track logging issue

Hi,
Just before I "complain", I want to thank the orux maps developers for an AMAZING application, that helps me a lot during my hiking trips.

My issue is the following:
I own a Nexus S with CM7 (RC4).
When I use the track logging feature, sometimes during the hike the GPS just "kind of" stops working and instead of continuous measurements I see a straight line between the 2 closest measurements.

Also, I sometimes see the message "GPS tracking off" even without touching the satellite icon.

I have no idea if it is a phone/OS issue or an application issue.

Any hint would be very helpful!

First off, I don't see your images. But... My guess is that it's a GPS fix issue. Were you in a dense forest or hilly terrain? There's a setting where you can tell it at what GPS accuracy is required for it to log. Menu > Settings > Application, then scroll to the bottom and it's under GPS settings: "Accuracy for position fix."

Hope this helps. Unfortunately, the gpx tracks I've made don't show the accuracy in the track points. I think I will request this to be logged.

I have the same problem. Which settings are the best ones to have a precise track? (regardless the duration)

I have set:
Minimal Time 2sec
Minimal distance 10meters
Accuracy for position fix 250 meters

Is it correct? I need the best precision, and i have no problem with duration (my bike tours are about 3hours long)

Your device?

There are problems with some sansumg devices when android turns off the gps. Try with 'minimal time' set to 0 seconds.

Thanks for the answer, i'll try with 0sec next time.

I have a LG optimus 2x, and with posted settings I always have gps issue and straight lines:(
The problem is that I tried to start orux and 2 another sport-tracking app at the same time during a bike-tour, and i have this gps issue only with orux.

Next time I'll try with 0 sec as you suggest, and I'll post the result:)
