live track (to mapmytracks)
I use the oruxmaps live track to mapmytracks.
One little flaw: every time I switch off and on live track
e.g. during a break, all data ( so far accumulated) is send again to mapmytracks.
That means that on mapmytracks after a tour there are
several tracks recorded.
Just a hint.

live track (to mapmytracks)
After some additional tests I can only confirm what I
wrote already.
After every break (track recording switched off) all data
so far stored is send to mapmytracks again and there a
new track is started.
At any position when data is send (dot on the track - which is very good) not only
the data of that position is transmitted but all data new gathered from the last position
report is send? Is that true?
I found out, that the programm "gps2mapmytracks" sends only one single position at a time.
That means a lot of positions between the reports are lost on the internet track.
Advantage is that that only little data is send (could be cheaper).
Disadvantage: the internet track is a bit rough.
This are just my thoughts about live tracking.

Thank you for your reply and changes.
I use now version 3.5.7beta.
Now every track part is send to mapmytracks without
adding the part before.
That means, after 2 breaks there are 3 tracks on mapmytracks.
The sum of the tracks is right.
If I want the complete track shown on mapmytracks I have to upload
the track from my device and delete the livetrack-parts on mapmytracks.
I’ve to make more tries and think about it.
Unfortunately I can’t make screenshots at present time.
After the upgrade to Android 2.3.1 rooting is impossible and that means
no screenshots anymore.
Thanks a lot.

live track (to mapmytracks)
I think, OruxMaps (3.5.7beta) is ok now concerning Live track.
No surplus data is send to mapmytracks.
That is very important because it can get expensive.
On the device the track is stored in one piece that
can be uploaded to mapmytracks after a tour.
The livetrack parts on mapmytracks can then be deleted
to get the sum right.
Thank you Orux for Oruxmaps.

Hello Orux,
just when I think Oruxmaps is perfect
you find something to make it even better.
The automatic live track switch on is a very
good idea. Although the black dots on the track
remind me that position data is transmitted,
I forgot to activate it sometimes. Now it will
switch on when the track recording is startet and
an icon shows when it is on.
To use Oruxmaps on the bike is a real joy.
I most appreciate the big black on white readings.
Even in bright sunshine it is no problem to read
the numbers.
Thank you

Delay in sending data on MapMyTracks over Live tracking?
Hi,
I have upgrade to 4.0.0 version of OruxMaps, and try to use Live sharing. I opened account on MapMyTracks.com, input user and pass in OruxMaps under option for MapMyTracks.
When I was cycling my friends follow me on public profile (MapMyTracks), but they observed some kind of delay in showing my position on the maps. It seems that my icon was static, and after few minutes (around 5 – 10min) it moved for a few kilometers and show track where I was mowing before, and my momentary position. And that was the pattern during entire ride. Same next day. Is there something I need to configure in OruxMaps or in my account on MapMyTrack? I suppose that MapMyTrack app have option to configure how often it will send data.

livetrack to mapmytracks
I hope that Orux will answer that question.
Each time data is send to the internet there will be a black dot
on the map of the device and you are right it isn't quite clear
what triggers data transmitting. It must be in connection with time, distance
and direction and it is not only data from one position.
Let's see what Orux can tell us.

Hello;
Before that time could be set, but we had troubles connecting with mapmytracks server + slow data connections and long times. Now it is fixed to 2 minutes.
But there is another factor that OruxMaps can not control: the refresh time used from mapmytracks to present the data in the browser.

For me 2 minutes is just right.
Sometimes there may be little delays caused by
mapmytracks, but that doesn't matter.

Re: live track (to mapmytracks)
Hi,
I can agree that 2min is acceptable, but there is obvously issue with MapMyTracks.
Yesterday I post a question on their forum:
http://www.mapmytracks.com/forums/viewthread/291/
Today I was testing a little.... When girlfriend and I went to shopping, she drived a car, and I seat on coo-driver seat with my laptop with data connection, and Xperia X8. I turn on OruxMaps and Live tracking, and watch what is showing on my MapMyTracks public page.
Activity "driving" was showed OK, and track was showed for the first cca 500m... It wasn't really Live, it was just showed that part of track at once. Then I was waiting to se what will showed next... but while we ware moving icon on profile was static.. we passed about 2km, but icon was still static(?). Then I refresh web page on Chrome browser and next part of track appears on screen! While I was doing that it was OK, and progress of moving was obvious, but when I stopped to refresh web page of MapMyTracks everything stopped also. Obvious there is some issue with refreshing rate of MapMyTracks web page.
