OruxMaps v.5.5.2 etc dark screen

For some time now I suddenly get that screen on my HTC One XL.
I don't remember at what version it startet.
Most of the time OruxMaps works fine, but suddenly it stops and I get
that picture. If I do nothing the whole screen gets black, only the top icons
can be seen still.
I have to restart OruxMaps but will loose some data.
So far I don't know what causes it.
If no one else has got that problem it certainly will be a problem of my device
or an interference between other programms which are running at the same time.
Any ideas?

Unfortunately my problem isn't solved yet.
Oruxmaps stops working at least once or twice on every tour on my HTC One XL.
While recording a track it suddenly stops showing the last position.
Then I have to stop the application and start Oruxmaps new.
If I discover the problem too late, I lose some data.
So far I have no idea what is causing it.
It is certainly not connected to a certain version.
I tried to delete apps runing at the same time - no success.
Any idea?

Yes you are right.
Turning off AutoRotation solved the problem for me too.
So far I couldn't find out at what moment the screeen freezes.
Certainly a matter of time.

I tried 5.5.3 beta 3 yesterday.
Unfortunately after about 10km the screen froze again.
I unmarked autorotation and had no problems on the next 40k,
