Hello!

I really like your tool oruxmaps. But I cannot install it using google play on my new Android device because my device is not supported. Probably because it doesn't have an onboard GPS receiver.

My solution is to download an apk directly from your homepage, but it would be nice to use google play directly - especially to get access to the current release. Oruxmaps works fine on my device using the bluetooth mouse bt747.

The device I'm using is the Archos 70b it2 7" tablet with 1024x600px resolution running honeycomb 3.2.1.

Probably google play filters all available applications based upon a profile, and a GPS receiver might be mandatory. Please change that profile of oruxmaps to enforce only bluetooth.

Thanks, Michael

I have the same issue for a cheap Chinese tablet I own using a Bluetooth GPS. OruxMaps doesn't appear in either Google Play or Android Market. There are some work-arounds -

1. Market Fix -

2. Fake Device Fingerprint -
You need to change the line in the build.prop file to a device that supports OruxMaps -

http://www.freeyourandroid.com/guide/how-to-edit-build-prop

For me, the device that works fine is as follows -

ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/GT-I9000/GT-I9000/GT-I9000:2.2/FROYO/XXJPM:user/release-keys

3. Alternately, you could also download the latest version .apk direct from Google Play using a Chrome plugin -

I've used variations of all three techniques to get OruxMaps up and running!
