Support of CH1903 Datum

Hello again,

with OziExplorer I prepared and calibrated all Switzerland in 972 mapsegments, each 7'000 x 4'800 pixels. Unfortunately, these are all calibrated with CH1903 Datum. I recalibrtated a map (14'000x14'400) with OruxMapsConverter2 and it works fine, however, recalibrate all Switzerland with WGS84 will be days of work.

Do you think, it would be possible, to integrate CH1903 Datum in a future release of OruxMapsConverter?

To make it easier, SwissTopo release code for Programmers, to implement Datum Conversion, and on therir homepage, there is also a converter (java script functions) for WGS85 <-> CH1903. Besides the Java code there is also a C#.NET and a PHP conversion available. You can find them on this page:

I am going to release a new version of OruxMaps (this weekend, I hope) with:
-improved accuracy with big maps.
-map autoload system (It will load a new map if you go out of current map).
-kml file support.

Next week I am going to work with OruxMapsConverter2, in order to:
-include a Datum calculator (I'll try to add support to CH1903 Datum).
-batch conversion (select a directory, all OziMaps will be Converted).

everything is okay, I'm not in a hurry, just got my HTC Hero last week and trying to find the useful applications I used to have on Windows Mobile. Your app is really appreciated and I look forward to any improvements. I'm aware, that the Android platform is quite new, and I was really delighted to see, how comprehensive even the early versions of OruxMaps and OruxMapsConverter are ...
