Feature Requests

Hi,
Thanks for a great app
Could you please include the following?
1/ optional arrow at centre of location circle indicating direction of travel
2/ Include a UK ordnance survey map in the on-line maps list
and are 2 sources I use)
3/ Have the on-line maps list configurable - there are lots of map sources many people do not use.

The URLs I included in the previous post have been removed - they were for multimap dot com and wtp2 dot appspot dot com
Also there's another mapping app rmaps that has online ordnance survey but I don't know the URL it it connects to.

Sorry, I've found the arrow in options > Map orientation. Guess I should RTFM ;-)
Any chance of the option to choose arrow colour and/or make it solid? It's barely visible on some areas of ordnance survey maps.

One other big ask - not sure if it's my phone (HTC Desire) or Orux - when using the volume key to zoom there's a loud beep - can it be turned off?

yep would love OS multimap map download within the app it's self as takes away dependency of pc/laptop when away.. Would mean nolonger have to plan a head when away....

Hi Pete,

I think the beep is actually from the Android system...if you were on the home screen, pressing the volume key increases or decreases the ringer volume and the phone beeps to let you know how loud the setting is. It seems to be this beep that is coming into OruxMaps. If you put the phone on silent, the beep goes. Obviously you might not want your phone in silent but if you turn the ringer volume down from max by a couple of notches, the beep is much less annoying.

I would also like to see the beep go away. I cannot imagine that it should be so difficult - many other apps assign other functions to the volume buttons: Aldiko, Dolphin Browser, ConnectBot...
