Can we get POI feature? Empty Can we get POI feature?

Outdoor GPSes have one pretty useful option - POI (Points of Interest). They are pretty much like waypoints but with one difference: waypoints are temporary, used for current navigation, but POI's are meant to stay in device for long time. POI's are handy public orientation marks that are always available: cities, gas stations, water sources, emergency facilities, public institutions, camping sites, monuments, landmarks and other interesting points.

POI's are separated from waypoints because, waypoints are usually wiped out when not needed or saved elsewhere. POI's are not supposed to be deleted at all, and they are suppsed to be visible on map all the time.

There is another functionality thet can get with the POI feature. There are number of public sources that provide online POI databases. That would allow OruxMaps to conect such sources, and update its POI database.

Can we get POI feature? Empty POI an Filtering

I agree that Points of Interest (POI) will be a useful feature. A persistent Waypoint.

One caution. A map could become useless with *too many* POIs. I think that one or more methods to filter POIs is necessary. By category. By keyword.

And perhaps a minimum Zoom Level for some POIs.
